This site is looking for literary fiction writers who can write in just about any style. Your story will have to be previously unpublished and unique.

They will pay you $500 for each accepted submission.

2. The People’s Friend

On this site, you can submit short stories, poems, and features based on the guidelines they provide. They recommend reading their magazine for a few weeks to get an idea of their writing style.

Their short stories are between 1,200 words to 3000 words, while their poems are around 20 lines of text.

You can earn as much as £15 per poem.

3. Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine

If you’re into writing science fiction, this is a great place to start! They accept short stories of at least 1,000 words and longer ones of about 20,000 words.

Poets can write for the magazine too, though they only accept up to 40 lines of text.

Asimov pays around 8-10 cents per word for short stories, which is really generous if you ask me.

There are various ways to earn money on Craft Literary if you can employ different writing styles. They accept writers from around the world but are highly selective about who they accept.

As a writer, you can submit:

If you can write listicle-styled articles filled with humor and interesting tidbits, then Cracked is open to writers like you!

Articles you’ll find on the website include:

8. Freelance Mom

If you’re a mom, chances are you’ve been looking for ways to earn money online with writing. Freelance Mom is a community for moms to express themselves while helping other moms.

This website looks for writers who can provide actionable tips and add a unique angle – something readers won’t see every day.

Payment is between $75 and $100 per article.

9. ListVerse

This is a pretty popular site that has a ton of listicle-style articles that are really entertaining and unique. If you have a knack for infusing humor into your writing, you should do well on this site.

Listverse pays around $100 for each accepted post and you can apply even as a new writer.

10. Money Pantry

I’m sure you’ve already heard of this website as it’s quite popular. If not, it’s a website that writes about all things money. So whether you’d like to show people how to make or save money – the Money Pantry wants good writers for their dedicated audience.

Based on the article word count or topic, you can expect to make between $30 and $150 per article. Articles should be between 700 and 2000 words.

11. Rank Pay

If you know anything about SEO and digital marketing, writing content for Rank Pay should be simple. They take on native English speakers to write quality articles for their readers.

To write for Rank Pay expect to follow their guideline such as:

  • Writing unique content
  • Using an informative yet casual tone
  • Including useful content

Also, all articles should be 1000 words or more.

If you’re a parent who has a lot of tips and tricks up your sleeve, you can earn online by sharing these tips with fellow parents.

Before submitting your pitch, try to get a good feel for the writing style as it should be genuine and heartfelt. Articles should be between 600 and 800 words.

With a large online community geared toward parents of all backgrounds, A Fine Parent is a great place to write for if you have a truly inspiring story or lessons to give to other parents.

All articles should be unique and well organized.

Expect $75 per published article.

Writing for greeting card companies is another fun way to make money. You’ll do well if you’re good at poetry, have a bit of humor, and are great at expressing emotion.

This company says they publish ‘sophisticated, contemporary and innovative greeting cards. They work with freelance artists to create their artwork and they want writers who fit their writing style.
